To convert a close quote to an open quote or an open quote to a close one, check this button and type another neutral quote.

To temporarily disable the quote smartkey, check this button and hold down the command and option keys when typing the neutral quote.

To turn on the quote smartkey, check this button. When it’s off, the options are dimmed.
